The Kilve Court and Charterhouse Centres are four residential and outdoor education centres. We consist of Kilve Court itself, with its own specialized Outdoor Centre, Great Wood on the Quantocks and Charterhouse on the Mendip Hills.

Take a look at the awesome courses we are running for ages 6 – 18. We concentrate on enrichment courses for able and interested students in the Autumn and Spring terms but you will also find outdoor activity courses during half terms.

We enable young people to discover what they can do – rather than focusing on what they can’t. Every child is encouraged to imagine, discover and achieve, with 100% support from our fantastic instructors.

Welcome to
The Kilve Court and Charterhouse Centres

Serious Fun! Fun Packed Learning!

Providing opportunities for everyone to learn through fun, build friendships, and create memories to last a lifetime. Delivering adventurous outdoor activities and educational enrichment programmes, which promote a healthy and active mind, and inspire future generations to unlock their potential.

We have four residential and outdoor education centres. There’s Kilve Court itself, with its own specialised Outdoor Centre, Great Wood on the Quantocks, and Charterhouse on the Mendip Hills.

Our centres offer loads of activities from climbing and survival, to sculpture and pond dipping. You name it – we’ve (probably) got it. We’ve got academic courses too. Students can learn how to build a real rocket and launch it, become a laser warrior, write a novel, or even produce a musical.

You can come for the day, a weekend or a week – or we can offer a tutor to come to your school, or give a talk to your special interest group. Our centres have something for everyone. We have students coming from all parts of the country and even from Europe! Young people with special needs are welcome and there may be some bursaries to give a helping hand if money is tight.

The Kilve Court and Charterhouse Centres are owned by Somerset County Council and operated by Support Services for Education.
